Honor Society Students Lead Successful Coaches vs. Cancer Fundraiser
/On January 16th, 2026, Honor Society students demonstrated exceptional leadership and compassion as they organized the annual Coaches vs. Cancer event—an evening dedicated to supporting a local family facing a cancer battle. Their commitment was evident in every detail of the event, from early planning to the final tally of donations.
In the weeks leading up to the fundraiser, students took charge of outreach efforts, contacting local businesses, coordinating donations, and securing raffle items and financial contributions. Their professionalism and initiative helped build strong partnerships and strengthened the connection between the school and the broader community.
The event itself offered something for everyone. Families enjoyed a variety of activities, including games, hair tinsel, a donation‑based meal, and a bake sale. The welcoming, upbeat atmosphere encouraged generosity and brought people together in a meaningful way. It was a powerful reminder of how a community can rally around a family in need.
Thanks to the hard work of Honor Society students—and the support of local businesses, boosters, the PTA, and countless community members—the fundraiser was a tremendous success. Together, they raised $3,163.43 to support the Widner family during their fight against cancer.
This year’s Coaches vs. Cancer event showcased not only the students’ organizational skills, but also their empathy, teamwork, and dedication to making a difference. Their efforts created an evening filled with hope, support, and community spirit—an impact that will be felt far beyond the event itself.
