Reminder to HS Senior Males:
All men are required to register with Selective Service within 30 days of their 18th birthday.  The law applies to citizens as well as non-citizens, and failure to register is a felony offense.  Additionally, registration is required to be eligible for federal job training, federal student loans, and federal employment, including the Post Office, Park Service, and Forest Service, and many other state and local programs.  To register:  go to http://www.sss.gov

The American Legion has provided a 152-page book that lists scholarships, grants and loans for which students may qualify. Need a Lift? is also available on the web @ www.legion.org/needalift


Please note that most of the scholarships have now gone to using the websites only for information and application process.  Local scholarships will be posted as soon as the information is available to the guidance office.  Be sure to check the website frequently for any new or additional information.
 
Scholarship applications can be accessed from the “Forms & Applications” section of website @ IowaCollegeAid.gov. Applicants can apply online for the All Iowa Opportunity Scholarship, All Iowa Opportunity Foster Care Grant, the Education and Training Voucher Grant, Governor Terry E. Below you will find a link to information about a special offer you and any of your students may use to receive discounted access to an online (or DVD) ACT and/or SAT study guide to help students prepare for the ACT and/or SAT test.  This program is offered through the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS).  Professional athletes and other organizations fund the program.  The cost of a standard ACT or SAT study program is usually $250, but through this program, each is available for $19.99, which covers licensing, registration, customer support, shipping, or online access fees.
